Inside DeakinPrime
Rosalyn Carr Gellie, Senior Project Manager
Rosalyn Carr Gellie is a Senior Project Manager at DeakinPrime who specialises in working with organisations to deliver corporate education and development programs. She is responsible for a portfolio of leadership and management projects, in Australia and China.
Prior to joining DeakinPrime where were you?
After six years in various roles at DeakinPrime, I spent four years in London gaining valuable international experience in general human resources (HR) at Deloitte, working on a major HR transformational program and then managing an executive MBA program at the London Business School.
As the Project Manager, what are you most passionate about?
Ensuring that all decisions and actions taken by project members are positively aligned and linked to achieving the project objectives. It is important to make sure the project team and others impacted by the project have a shared understanding, with the desired outcomes always in mind.
What can DeakinPrime offer to organisations?
DeakinPrime is exceptional in its ability to create highly customised programs based on what organisations want and need. Our wide range of resources, experience and structure allows us to be flexible yet also harness the vigour, reputation and innovation of Deakin University.
Name a business leader you admire
Love her or hate her, Oprah Winfrey's impact and influence on people all around the world is pretty astounding.
What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?
Honesty is the best policy.
What skills or qualities do you wish you had?
I would love to be blessed with creative and magical musicality—a singing voice and aptitude for playing musical instruments. Unfortunately, I am tone deaf but, much to the dismay of those around me, I still enjoy a good sing–a–long!
What are you reading now?
Endgame: The Spectacular Rise and Fall of Bobby Fischer. So far it appears to be a well-written, factual biography and it is interesting to get an insight into such an extraordinary and troubled talent.
