Welcome to 2011: Perspectives from Jules Cauberg, CEO, DeakinPrime
April 13, 2011
It is incredible to think that we are already in the second month of 2011 and gearing up for delivery of our many and varied programs to our new and existing clients.
DeakinPrime is stepping up, not just in terms of how we are engaging with our clients but also with our move to newer, more spacious purpose built premises at 550 Bourke Street (the Deakin University Melbourne City Centre). While the move filled some of us with uneasy anticipation at first, the end result has been well worth it with our staff now housed in state-of-the-art premises. The Melbourne City Centre has been established to offer an important means for the University to engage with its external communities, especially to facilitate partnerships with industry, governments and the professions. It optimises its Melbourne central business district location and builds an integrated network with the life of the surrounding city.
One thing that has struck me in focusing on 2011 is the depth and breadth of activities that DeakinPrime engages in. I see our Project Managers, Principal Consultants and Directors running off to meet with the Metropolitan Fire Brigade to talk about Leadership, organising industry engagement conferences in the Personal Injury sector, discussing strategy with the CPA Australia and implementing Business Acumen courses with the Department of Defence, to mention but a few.
Our work, incidentally, is not limited to just Australia – we have recently worked with Ford in Thailand & China as an extension of one our very successful and long-running domestic Leadership programs; one of our DeakinPrime facilitators has also just recently returned from Shanghai completing a program on Management for Alcoa participants. The ANZ Leadership program in the Asia Pacific region is also about to kick off – a very exciting initiative.
But whether we are working in Australia or working internationally, at the heart of all of this is our commitment to being relevant to our clients. In particular for 2011, I am urging my staff and colleagues to listen even more intently to the needs of the corporate market – this will enable us to formulate the right solution and demonstrate the thought leadership that we have become known for .
Please drop by and pay us a visit next time you are in the CBD and share your thoughts with us. Let us show you around as a welcome guest. One of our guests who is definitely going to drop by in late March to the Melbourne City Centre will be Li Cun Xin, Mao's Last Dancer – he will be speaking on the topic of Resilience and sharing with us his incredible life journey thus far. The topic of Resilience is a topic that is particularly close to my heart and is something that comes up again and again in speaking to many senior executives. I certainly hope you can join us for this event and others.
Kind regards
Jules
